Title insurance offers protection against title issues related to real estate fraud by identity theft, as well as irregularities appearing in the registered land title.

Coverage Exclusions

Known title irregularities and issues, including those mentioned in the survey certificate at the time of purchase or indicated in your deed, are excluded from coverage.

Eligibility

To be eligible for homeowner title insurance, the property must :

  • Have a maximum of six dwelling units;
  • Be used exclusively for residential purposes;
  • Already be registered in the client’s name in the land registry;
  • Not be covered by an existing title insurance policy.

Ineligible Properties

The following properties are not eligible:

  • Commercial properties;
  • Properties with more than six dwelling units;
  • Properties whose title is not yet registered in the client’s name.
